Stockton Fringe Festival 2010

Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival 2010 has now been launched, and will be taking place from Thursday, 29 July to Sunday 1 August.

2010 will see the fringe festival celebrating it's 20th birthday, and it's doing it in style... The headliners of this years Fringe festival are The Human League, The Lightning seeds, Calvin Harris and mercury Rev

Sarah Millican and Ivan Brackenbury will be heading up the comedy stage, with more announcements to come.

'The Fringe' will once again feature the Main Stage, the Loosely Acoustic Stage, a Comedy Stage and events within Stockton Cultural Quarter - in and around The Georgian Theatre.

Fringe Director Paul Burns:

"2010 will actually see us celebrating the 20th birthday of The Fringe, I can't think of a better way to mark the occasion than to welcome these big names to our event.

"The line up is made complete by the huge numbers of local musicians who take their place on stage alongside these great acts; hopefully playing the gig of their lives.

"Our supporters and funders - in particular Stockton Borough Council and Arts Council England have really pulled out all of the stops to make sure that the people of Stockton and the whole North East continue to enjoy a fantastic programme of free events."

More high profile bands will be announced soon as well as the local bands to play the main stage and the musical mixture that will be playing the ever growing Loosely Accoustic stage.

The main thing to remember about the Fringe Festival is that its all FREE!
